Big Oil has officially withdrawn their deceitful initiative to overturn our law!
That’s right: This initiative won’t be on the ballot in November. Our law is safe and will finally take effect. We just protected California neighborhoods from toxic oil drilling!
Big Oil spent nearly $61 million on their failed campaign. No matter how much dark money they spent to deceive voters, they couldn’t compete with the truth. Californians know toxic oil drilling means dirty air and sick kids and has no place next to playgrounds, schools, or homes.
This is a MASSIVE (and embarrassing) defeat for Big Oil. Multiple polls showed nearly 70% of Californians were set to vote to KEEP THE LAW — a testament to our hard work.
Now, our historic coalition is more organized than ever, and we’re ready to advance the fight for even more protections from toxic oil drilling.
